So Autumn is upon us. Fall might be one of my favourite times of year. There is something quite beautiful about the leaves falling from the trees and the colours that line the streets. The burnt oranges and mustard tones provide the perfect backdrop for the end of the Summer season. The weather is turning crisp and the night are drawing in. For us fashionistas this can only mean one thing…to change your wardrobe. Autumn isn’t just about knits and coats. It’s about layering and changing your colour palette. One of the biggest tasks that you might come across is changing your Summer workwear wardrobe to Autumn. What you wear for the office has to be planned in advance as you need to make sure you fall in line with your companies uniform policies but also make sure you look chic and professional at the same time. If you’re like me and find it a little difficult to nail this look, read on for some handy styling tips…
Boilersuit and Flats
Boilersuits are the perfect style for when the weather begins to turn colder. It is easy to throw on and comfortable but also looks very sophisticated. The boiler suit is the jumpsuit of this season. The utilitarian trend has been on the up and nothing falls in line with the trend more than a boilersuit. Wear yours with some flat mules to finish the outfit off nicely.
Dress with Trousers
Yep, we said a dress with trousers. If you explain this look to some people you will see that their expression on their faces will suggest they think you’re bonkers. Well they would stand corrected if they saw you in the outfit. Grab some of your favourite cigarette trousers and wear one of your bright coloured Summer midi dresses over the top. I know I said wear neutral colours but you need a bit of colour in your life when the weather is all doom and gloom.
