I always seem to be drawn to neutral colours (think mochas, sand colours and biscuit hues), so i didn’t find it difficult to wear as many chocolate shades throughout the week. I would even say that black is fast becoming the new brown, a bold statement i know, but if the runways are anything to go buy then it’s true.
A seem to always wear brown, Monday to Thursday, in my quest to prove wearing chocolate brown daily isn’t too much of a difficult task. I experimented with every trend I could think of, from clashing colours to mix and matching different tones. Read on to see how I worse different shades of brown through the week.
Monday: Start of the Working Week
All my favourite tailored styles look fantastic in brown shades so try and experiment with your office wear a little. Say adios to your tailored trousers in black and go for a mocha plaid pair, instead. The check print, breaks the outfit up so you can go tonal and add more shades of brown to the outfit if you wish. White accessories can elevate this look to the next level.
Tuesday: Add Some Colour
The best way to wear chocolate shades, in my opinion, is to wear different shades of brown with pops of colour (Go for some pastel shades to be on trend). I wore a knitted top over a stone coloured silky dress, and then try to incorporate a neon coloured turtle-neck and finish with a coloured belt bag.
Wednesday: Suit Up
Tailored suits are all over the high street at the moment, whether it’s online or in high street stores, there’s amazing variety available. Being 5’5”, the pants don’t normally fit me too great, so i wore a tailored blazer with biking shorts. Cycling shorts are huge at the moment and I have fully embraced the trend. Again, go for tonal colours but if you’re feeling brave…go for neon!
Thursday: Chocolate All Over
It sounds crazy and a bit scary to wear a full brown outfit. I think it’s a lot easier to put together a sleek, chic look. If all brown is too much for you go for a charcoal coloured dress, it means you can add brown accessories instead. zebra-print heels and a mocha tote bag.
