Animal Instincts

Just when you thought animal print was going out of fashion, the wild print is back and it’s here to stay. But this time it’s not just leopard print that’s available. Recently other animal prints have started to infiltrate the high street, and designers have looked towards other prints like snake print, tiger stripes and even cow print. The beauty of animal prints is that, they can be mixed and matched with any outfits.

The recent catwalks were all over the runways of fashion week. The new craze is actually having a picture of said animal on the clothing instead of the skin, which we love. Nothing cuter than a leopard’s face on your leggins after all. Tiger print is the new bug hitter on the black and you can find some amazing dresses and coats in the print. Of course leopard print is a mainstay and it was plastered all over lots of different accessories. To summarise, animal print was fully embraced by all designers and street stylers from all over the globe.

One designer sent an outfit down the catwalks that incorporated cheetah print. They took the print to the next level by styling a midi skirt with a zig zag top with a mesh top over the top, a netted hat and lace boots. Another designer incorporated leopard print into pretty much everything they designed. We’re talking jumpsuits, shift dresses and midi skirt and mini dresses. Tiger stripes were big and it showed as they were a large part of a lot of collections. Other designers also jumped on the bandwagon and the prints could be seen everywhere at the global fashion events.

As it does every year the designs from the runways hit the high street shortly after. We noticed classic leopard designs on maxi dresses combined with chunky boots, leggings topped with a trench coat, finished off with a lot of clashing prints.
