When you think about adding something a bit extra to an outfit, you think sequins, glitter, studs. The last thing you think of is the humble blazer. Especially when it’s in a vibrant shade like cerise, lilac or coral. The blazer is a wardrobe classic that most ladies will have in their wardrobes but unfortunately they tend to mostly be in muted tones like black or grey. Adding a pop of colour could elevate the outfit to the next level. We’d recommend ice cream hues such as lilac, lemon or baby pink to make your blazer a full on Summer masterpiece.
Ways to make an impact with a blazer numero uno: makes sure you’re keeping the colours in your outfit coordinated. A jade-green shade would look fresh and zingy with a fresh white tank top underneath and chunky dad sneakers to finish (dad sneakers are taking the fashion world by storm) — A bright coral bag would provide the perfect colour contrast. But what would make this outfit really mega would be a mix of a boxy blazer with the slinky slip skirt. We do love a contrast. Do be afraid of really going for it on the colour front. Pastel colours are very on trend and primary colours are now having meteoric rise as the hot weather begins to break through.
Try it out for yourself — team a logo t-shirt (we love tee’s that have band prints on them, Led Zeppelin is a personal favourite) with a neon pink slip dress. A pastel pink blazer would bring the contrast down a notch, while wearing some sporty trainers like some Reebok exofits in brilliant white would finish the outfit off nicely We love logo tees, go for accents on the top that totally work that tonal vibe. Sorbet perfection.
